CPSD RELEASES UPDATED RETURN TO SCHOOL PLAN FOR 2021-2022

The Clinton Public School District has released an updated Return to School Plan for the 2021-2022 school year on its website.

The updated plan addresses health guidelines and protocols put in place to keep students, staff and visitors safe inside campus buildings while ensuring students are presented with meaningful instruction.

All campuses will offer in-person instruction. Virtual learning as it existed in the 2020-2021 school year will not be an option for students. However, students who show a specific medical need and are currently under the care of a physician will receive consideration for alternative learning options.

Clinton Public School District superintendent Dr. Andy Schoggin said he understands that students learn best when they are physically present in the school room.

“The Clinton Public School District will begin the 2021-2022 school year in the traditional school model with all students returning for in-person instruction,” Dr. Schoggin said.

“Many of the protocols that were in place last year and served our school district well will still be utilized as a component of meeting our goals,” Dr. Schoggin added. “While masks will be optional for all faculty, staff, students and visitors inside the CPSD buildings, they may be required for all faculty, staff and students for brief periods of time if local health data dictates a need to do so.”

The Return to School Plan addresses student and staff protocol as well as other measures the district has put in place to assist in providing a safe learning environment such as installation of ionization units to improve air quality in buildings.

Dr. Schoggin said, “This innovative product currently being installed offers a more substantial air quality that mitigates allergens, removes airborne pathogens, redirects dust from the airflow and many more air quality benefits.”

The updated 2021-2022 Return to School Plan can be found on the CPSD website along with a video message from Dr. Andy Schoggin.

Parents can still register new and returning students through the CPSD website as well as access school supply lists for grades K-8. Students are scheduled to begin the new school year on Wednesday, August 11.
